Council & Administration: How Your Local Government Works

The Summer Village of Whispering Hills is governed by a local Council and managed by a single staff member, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Together, they ensure the village runs smoothly, decisions are made in the public’s interest, and residents have a voice in how their community is shaped.

Your Summer Village Council

Council is made up of three elected officials: a Mayor and two Councillors. These individuals are elected every four years by residents and property owners. The next municipal election will take place in 2025.

Council's role includes:

Making decisions on bylaws, budgets, and community priorities
Approving policies and regulations
Representing the interests of the Summer Village as a whole
Council meetings are open to the public, and residents are always welcome to attend or contact Council members with questions or feedback.

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

The CAO is the only staff member in the Summer Village office and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the municipality. That includes:

Implementing Council decisions
Managing village finances, permits, and communication
Serving as the point of contact for residents, contractors, and other municipalities
The CAO is here to help, so if you ever have a question about village services, bylaws, or where to find information, don’t hesitate to reach out!
